Ajahn Suwat Suvaco (1919–2002), born in Thailand, joined the Saṅgha at the age of twenty. Two or three years later he became a disciple of Ajahn Funn Ācāro. He was also a disciple of Ajahn Mun for a short time.
After Ajahn Funn’s death Ajahn Suwat remained in his monastery to oversee the royal funeral of his teacher and the construction of a monument and museum in honor of Ajahn Funn. In the 1980s Ajahn Suwat went to the United States where he founded four monasteries. In 1996 he returned to Thailand.
