Lily de Silva was Professor of Pali and Buddhist Studies at the University of Peradeniya in Sri Lanka and a regular contributor to Buddhist scholarly and popular journals.
She is also the editor of the subcommentary to he Digha Nikaya and several other translations and a Pali language primer published by the Pali Text Society of London.
