Ajahn Suwat Suvaco (1919-2002), born in Thailand, joined the Sangha at the age of 20. Two or three years later he became a disciple of Ajahn Funn Acaro. He was also a disciple of Ajahn Mun for a short time. After Ajahn Funn's death Ajahn Suwat remained in his monastery to oversee the royal funeral of his teacher and the construction of a monument and museum in honour of Ajahn Funn. In the 1980s Ajahn Suwat went to the United States where he founded four monasteries. In 1996 he returned to Thailand.
